Resin Bonded Stone
A bonded system where stone is scattered onto resin after it has been spread onto the surface and levelled. The Addastone resin bonded surfacing system provides an attractive, hard wearing, low maintenance surface by bonding or fixing loose gravel aggregates to concrete, asphalt, wood or metal. Aggregates bonded with resin to a surface give the appearance of loose gravel without the many maintenance problems. A wide range of natural and recycled aggregates can be resin bonded to a variety of surfaces making it ideal for heritage sites, landscaping schemes, parks, paths, driveways, roads and visitor attractions that want the look of loose stone but the convenience of fixed paving.

Life Expectancy
Resin bonded gravel surfaces are very resilient. However life spans will depend on usage and choices of aggregate. Typical examples of expected life are as follows: • Footpaths using a 2-5mm Brittany Bronze: 8-15 Years • Domestic Drive using a 1-3mm Chinese Bauxite: 8-15 Years • Car Parks using a 1-3mm Guyanan Bauxite: 5-10 Years • Roads using 1-3mm Chinese Bauxite 5-8 Years

General Cleaning
Oil, dirt or other common stains should be removed from resin bonded aggregate surfaces by applying a suitable household detergent or similar degreaser.

Resin bonded gravel driveways, paths or paved areas should be swept occasionally to remove loose stones, they can also be cleaned using pressure washers to remove dirt and detritus.

To protect surfaces from staining and to aid cleaning and removal of chewing gum a coat of Addastone Surface Protector should be applied.

Maintenance
Newly treated resin bonded gravel surfaces must be swept to remove excess aggregate as soon as possible using a mechanical road sweeper* or by hand. A further sweep should be carried out after 1 – 3 months to remove remaining loose stones.

A visual examination should be carried out to check that no or very little aggregate is left as this could result in the bonded aggregate splitting and working out of the resin. This could negate on any guarantees agreed with the Addastone installer.

*Mechanical sweepers using metal bristles must not be used.

Addastone surfaces are resistant to acid and alkali. However some staining may occur.

Resin Fully Bound Stone
A fully bound system where each individual stone is coated with resin before being spread onto the surface. It is then trowelled by hand to provide a smooth finish. A slip resistant material is added to give extra grip. By using carefully selected resins, chosen for their outstanding properties, a long term and hardwearing surface is produced that has proved to be stronger than concrete and can bond to a variety of surfaces.

Natural appearance
It will provide an impressive new look, resurfacing dull concrete and tired tarmacadam with the beauty of natural stone. A wide variety of aggregates is available for paths, driveways or public areas that are sympathetic to their surroundings and blend into virtually any landscaping scheme in either town or country.

Low maintenance
Retains all the appearance and beauty of gravel without the problems. The gravel stays in place and is easy to keep clean. Any dirt, algae and moss that builds up in damp and shaded areas can easily be hosed away. It resists most chemicals includoing oil and petrol, so is ideal for driveways and car parks.

Patterns and special effects
Can incorporate coloured aggregates and tumbled glass to create a vast range of designs. Motifs or logos can be reproduced to give an individual look.
